Notice from the 100 Mile Development Corporation

Now that the Fire Danger Rating is lower, we have received some precipitation, and more seasonal temperatures prevail, the 100 Mile Development Corporation will be resuming fuel treatments in various locations in the 100 Mile Community Forest.

Fuel treatments include mechanical piling and manual hand treatments.  The areas where crews will be working include:

  • Horse Lake Rd North
  • Imperial Ranchettes
  • South of Horse Lake School
  • Near the cell tower in town
  • Behind Blackstock neighbourhood

Fuel treatment operations will start on August 27th, 2021 and are expected to be completed by late fall.  No burning of machine or hand piles will be done until venting and safety conditions are fully met.

We thank you for your patience as we continue to implement these fuel break treatments.
