FIRESMART COORDINATOR

The District of 100 Mile House is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Dugaro to the role of FireSmart Coordinator. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of FireSmart activities within the District of 100 Mile House.
Dugaro has been a member of 100 Mile House Fire Rescue since 2017 and brings a wealth of experience to the position. In this new role, Dugaro will develop and deliver a variety of public education initiatives to ensure that residents understand the principles of fire mitigation and emergency preparedness. He says his goal is to increase public understanding of FireSmart strategies and encourage residents to take action to protect their properties and surroundings.

FireSmart is an education program that aims to build wildfire resiliency and reduce the negative impacts of fire for everyone in the province. The FireSmart Coordinator position in 100 Mile House is 100-per-cent funded through the Community Resiliency Investment (CRI) program, an initiative funded by Union of BC Municipalities.
