Category 1 Campfire Bans have been lifted in the 100 Mile House

Category 1 Campfire Bans have been lifted in the 100 Mile House Forest District, which includes the District of 100 Mile.

The Category 1 campfire prohibition in the Cariboo Fire Centre has been partially rescinded as of noon today. Campfires are now permitted in the Quesnel Forest District, 100 Mile House Forest District and the Cariboo-Chilcotin Forest District on the east side of the high-water mark of the Fraser River.

A reminder that in areas where campfires are now permitted under BC Wildfire Service jurisdiction, local governments may still have their own bylaws in place. Always check with the municipality, First Nation or other local authority before lighting a fire of any size.
