Get to Know Us

100 Mile House is a friendly, welcoming small community in the heart of the South Cariboo.  Servicing all the permanent and seasonal residents in the South Cariboo, we have a surprisingly diverse number of goods and services available, including retail, recreational, professional, health, industrial and commercial services.

Our Location

Originally a stopping house along the Cariboo Gold Rush Trail, we remain an important stop on the major N-S highway corridor in BC.  Located right on Highway 97, we see a large volume of highway traffic – over 2 million vehicles annually.  This presents opportunities for services catering to tourists and business travellers, as well as the transportation sector.  Ideally situated close to nearby markets - only 5 hour drive from Vancouver and centrally located between Kamloops and Prince George - makes 100 Mile House ideal for rubber-tire traffic business opportunities.  We also have good cell coverage and high speed internet for your tech or home based business.

100 Mile House offers an attractive cost of living, a relaxed lifestyle, and plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities.  The abundance of recreational opportunities means, for us, an unparalleled quality of life, where we can access trails and adventure literally within seconds from our backyards, whether by snowmobile, ATV, horseback, mountain bike, or on foot.

Historically, our economy has been closely tied to the forest industry and value-added production, such as the log home building industry.  These are still important economic drivers, but we also recognize the importance of innovation and vision to grow and diversify our economic base.  So, we are building on our rich ranching and agricultural history, and supporting historical and adventure tourism initiatives, along with retail opportunities and housing construction.

We welcome the opportunity to work with you to help make your business venture prosperous.
