Sign Bylaw Update

Thank you everyone who took their time to complete the survey. We had 278 responses which is amazing!

Things We Heard:

• Most people want sandwich board and temporary signs to help businesses attract attention, with reasonable guidelines for placement and timing.
• There is strong support for reducing restrictions, especially to better accommodate small and home-based businesses.
• Many respondents favor allowing more than one sign per building, including some off-premises and shared community signs to improve visibility.
• Improved highway and directional signage is needed to help visitors find businesses along Highway 97.
• Concerns about maintenance and appearance of signs were common, with calls for clearer standards and enforcement.
• People want fair and consistent enforcement across all business types.
• The community values signage that reflects local culture, inclusivity, and the small-town character of the District.
